After I got my new locking tuners to do a full proper setup, I got a cheap Ibanez to learn on, ended up switching to 10s and replacing the tuners (mainly because theirs were cheap feeling and I want chrome) not that I have much skill but I'm sure it be good to have it properly set up to eliminate any future headaches down the road plus just good to know

This makes me think of the cheap Amazon P90s that I put in my $25 Gibson/Baldwin Educational Series Spirit. I really wonder what percentage of people could tell the difference between that guitar, and a real Les Paul Special with Gibson P90s.

Spruce all the way. Im just curious about the stability of that guitar compared to the carbon fiber one. Originally, I was thinking about getting the carbon fiber guitar for more stability and less maintenance. I always find myself tweaking intonation at a traditional guitar so Im really thinking hard about getting the carbon fiber one

Hi! Very nice project. I own 2011 CV 60's and also made some similar upgrades few years back. I put on tremolo bridge from MiM with Fender stamped saddles, CTS pots, 5 way switch vintage CRL, Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups, vintage tuners (classic, not locked). Complete cloth wiring and some shielding. All made and mounted by myself - some would say it was not worth it, because it's worth more than guitar itself and it is still Squier, but I beg to disagree. It's was out of the shelf very good guitar, with mods it's even much better. Although I plan to buy Am Pro, won't ever sell my CV.

I bought the same model & colro, Is it normal a big drop of volume when switching to 4th position of the pick up selector.

These ones sound extremely similar. You can still make out which one's the telly and which one's the LP, but I don't think you could in a full band mix.

There are multiple places where drag plays in. 1. Poor not sharp knife edges at the fulcrum can cause the trem plate to drag and not fully return to neutral 2. Poor quality springs are not stable (least likely) 3. The wound E and A strings drag the most in the nut slots, when you bend notes or use the trem the E & A strings hang, and stick slightly in the nut just a bit, snd since the G string is thick and doesn’t take a lot of tension adjustment to change the pitch it’s out of tune. Point 1 comes into play at this point too. Lube E, A $ G nut grooves

so this is a question i'm hoping some one might be able to answer , i've bought a new Squier Tele and going to upgrade all the hardware but as i'll be usuing it for recording purposes only , instead of keeping the 3-way switch for the pick up's i was wondering if it'd be possible to have 2 volume pots and a tone pot , so i could blend the pick-up's to the output and hopefully be able to do some noise cancelling with the 2 pick ups humbucking each other , is that something i could do ? .. To me the wood sounded better on the finger style, the carbon slightly better on strumming.

Thanks for this vid, it’s been great to summarise these issues into a concise 11 min link that I can flick to customers. I’m usually happy to explain but people sometimes have their egos bruised when we tell them that a more affordable guitar will have some limitations/ why the premium models are significantly more expensive.

I bought one cort. It's not cheap, 1100 dollars, but it was 0.9 string, I prefer more. Then Its 24 frets, it's a little strange for me to have been playing strat all my life.

I know you like to test & review various guitar mods. The noiseless pickups don't sound like single coils? In the vain of 'noise reduction, I recently ran across the Ulbrick NRS (Noise Reduction System) Supposedly, you can keep the single coils with the tone you love, & eliminate the annoying hum. *I would really like to see you do a review of the product. * I would also love to hear from anyone who has any experience with the Ulbrick NRS. via the reply.

I have long hands and fingers. So I can easily wrap my hands around a tele neck and have 3 fingers touch my palm. I much prefer thick necks.

Late to the party here. NO!!! You can put a Strat neck on a Tele, but strangely, you cannot put a Tele neck on a Strat....UNLESS you route out the neck pocket on the Strat. Reason? You notice that the flat Tele neck does not reach the bottom of the rounded Strat neck pocket. What that means is that the intonation will never be right unless you route out that Strat neck pocket to match the Tele neck. You CAN put a Strat neck on a Tele because the rounded Strat neck reaches the bottom of the flat Tele neck pocket, therefore the intonation will be fine.

I only buy guitars that are white or black and my PRIMARY decision maker is how good it looks. The end. Everything else is a distant second. I have a Black LP Standard and a White USA Strat - the two main food groups and I’m very happy.

I take the buzz, slap a mild noise gate on and have the better clean AND distortion sound. All of these "noiseless pickups" are crappy humbuckers.
